Benchmark is currently assisting Modern Landfill with the permitting of a 122-acre lateral expansion at it’s sanitary landfill in Model City, NY. The project follows successful revisions to the Town Landfill Law and Host Community Benefits Package. Benchmark assisted in the development of computer-enhanced video comparing the visual impact of the currently permitted landfill with the proposed expanded site. The video was paramount in addressing aesthetic concerns and securing community approval of the project.

 

 

 

Solid waste transfer station design requires understanding more than just the structural and mechanical needs of the facility. Existing and future collection operations, equipment and scheduling must also be taken into consideration to assure a smooth flow of traffic through the station.
